ONLINE CONTENT
Valley | Mining Hub 1
One of the biggest demands within mining are solutions for online analysis of processes, including the content of ores during the process for better control of the use of reagents.

LLK has developed a system via hyperspectral cameras that determines the content in approximately 2 minutes with an accuracy between 96 and 98%, creating a system, on average, 60 times faster than manual laboratory tests, as they are used today.
RADEC VISION (GENERATION II)
Valley | Mining Hub 2
Innovation in the generation of new products and international recognition: these are our greatest incentives to present, today, the new Radec Visão, another LLK product, launched in Cycle II of the Mining Hub.
In partnership with the team from Vale da Mina de Cauê and MAC, the LLK team was given the challenge of transforming Radec Visão, a patented LLK product that has been on the market for over 7 years, in mining companies, in Brazil and abroad.
The challenge proposed in the project aimed to reduce impacts due to tears in ore conveyor belts. The problem was executed by LLK's multidisciplinary team and studied from end to end: from the strategic planning of implementation and construction of the conveyor to the final execution in a full-size prototype. The solution consists of a new efficient system for detecting tears and misalignments, using computer vision and complementary technologies, such as vibration analysis. That is, more than a new product was generated: a new concept was presented to the market!
The results reached the expectations of the challenge, providing a reduction of up to 98% in tear detection (considering a TCLD of 3 km) and not generating any false alarms, occurrences that are normal and frequent in other systems for detecting tears in conveyor belts .
The expected impacts of Radec Visão on the mining sector are many. Among them, we highlight the cost reduction with carpet replacement; reduction of downtime for maintenance; greater availability of the conveyor belt and remote analysis, reducing the number of professionals in the risk area.
Welcome new Radec Visão, to the LLK world of Mining.
VIBRATIONAL RADEC (GENERATION II)
Mozambican valley
In 2017, with a new prototype for improving the Vibrational RADEC already validated, LLK was selected as the supplier of 100% of Belt Conveyors for the Port of Nacala, in Mozambique, from Companhia LogÃstica de Nacala, a Vale company. The delivery was carried out with a structure in stainless steel 316, as required for work in the port. The new Vibrational RADEC with compact sensor and direct output has transformed the Vibrational RADEC into a simple product that is easy to install and configure.
ONLINE VIBRATION AND TEMPERATURE
Usiminas
Usiminas, after identifying its equipment with high criticality for the process, chose to monitor and protect it using on-line vibration analysis systems. The option for online systems is justified by the need to protect the equipment and reduce the number of people to collect data on the machines.
MOBILE EQUIPMENT PROTECTION
Samarco
Samarco Mineração was looking for a company to create a new protection system for crane trucks (Munck) in its fleet, as part of the operators' safety policy.
The need to protect the operation required monitoring and consequent interlocking of the parameters to prevent erroneous operation. The following were part of the requirements: alerting the movement of the truck when the operator is not wearing a belt, preventing the lifting of the load with the pads in the cradles or with the truck too inclined, etc.
VIBRATIONAL RADEC (GENERATION I)
Samarco
Samarco Mineração asked LLK, in 2013, to develop a new protection system for conveyor belts. The main motivation for this request was due to the various problems presented in the traditional detectors of mobile trays, ropes, counterweights and others that used moving parts and demanded cleaning and changing parts continuously.
The main challenge of this system was the quicker detection of several types of tears, mainly the belt centers and edge strips, without the need to clean the system and without moving parts.
RADEC VISION (GENERATION I)
Yamana Gold
Yamana Gold has a need to protect its belts from severe tearing and misalignment. The company sought out LLK due to the unreliability of systems of this type currently available on the market, which are based on mobile elements that are prone to errors and blockages, such as trays, ropes and counterweight systems.
LLK was given the challenge of developing a system that would detect, prematurely, tears with opening, tears with overlapping and misalignments on the conveyor belt. The protection system must present a level of false alarms considerably lower than conventional systems and also quantify tears and misalignments.
VOLUMETRIC SCALE
Votorantim Cimentos
Votorantim Cimentos, in Itaú de Minas – MG, needed to measure the mass of material passed on a conveyor belt. This belt, specifically, has always had many problems with conventional scale systems, due to load cells, generating the need for very frequent calibration intervention, in addition to poor accuracy due to its inclination. Four different types of material are conveyed through this system.
LLK was challenged to develop a system without contact with the conveyor with at least 5% accuracy.
BALL COUNTER
OK
There was a need to create an operational control loop for the SAG ball mill. The fundamental point for control is the quantification and classification according to the diameter of the grinding media inserted into the mill through a belt conveyor.
The process is important for several factors, including avoiding excessive wear on the mill lining, avoiding material contamination, performing a stock calculation based on passed balls, in order to also calculate how many new elements should be inserted.
